Subscription Policy
This policy explains how NatBuddy subscriptions are billed, renewed, changed and cancelled. It sits alongside our Terms of Service, which govern your use of the Service generally, and our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which covers getting money back. NatBuddy is operated by Granviex, LLC, a Florida limited liability company.
1. The one thing to know first: where you bought it
There are two ways to subscribe to NatBuddy, and they are billed by different companies. Almost every question below has a different answer depending on which one applies to you:
- In the app, through the App Store. Apple charges you, Apple holds the payment method, and the subscription lives in your Apple ID.
- On our website, at start.natbuddy.com. We charge you through our payment processor, Stripe, and the subscription lives in your Stripe billing portal.
Your receipt tells you which one you have: an App Store purchase produces a receipt from Apple, a website purchase produces one from Stripe with a link to the billing portal. A subscription bought one way does not appear in the other, and cancelling one does not cancel the other.
2. Plans and prices
The plans on offer, and the price of each, are shown before you purchase — in the App Store listing for an in-app subscription, or on the checkout screen for a website purchase — and again on your receipt. We do not list prices on this page, because the price you agreed to is the one on your receipt and we would rather you trust that than a number on a marketing site that could fall out of date.
Some website plans are sold as an introductory term: a shorter, cheaper first period that then continues as a standard plan. An introductory term does not renew at its own price — it renews at the price and interval of the plan it converts into. Both figures are stated on the checkout screen before you pay.
If a promotional discount is applied to a website purchase, the discounted amount is what you are charged, and it continues to apply to your renewals for as long as the subscription stays active.
3. Automatic renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the stated price and interval until you cancel. On the website route there is no free trial: you are charged when you complete checkout. In the app, new subscribers may be offered a free trial, in which case billing begins when the trial ends unless you cancel first.
We do not send a separate reminder before each renewal. The renewal date shown in your Apple ID settings or your Stripe billing portal is the date to work from.
4. How to cancel
App Store subscription. Open your Apple ID subscription settings on your device and turn off auto-renew, at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Apple manages this entirely; we cannot cancel it for you, and deleting the app does not cancel it.
Website subscription. Open the billing portal linked from your Stripe receipt email and cancel there. If you cannot find the email or reach the portal, write to us and we will help.
In both cases, cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep full access until then, and nothing further is charged after that. Cancelling is not the same as requesting a refund — see the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
5. Changing plans
Website subscribers can switch between plans in the billing portal; any promotional discount on the subscription carries over to the new plan. App Store subscribers change plans through their Apple ID subscription settings, where Apple applies its own upgrade and downgrade timing rules.
6. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, the payment provider will normally retry it for a period and notify you so you can update your payment method. If it ultimately cannot be collected, the subscription ends and premium access stops. Your account, your pets and your logged history are not deleted — you keep the free experience and can subscribe again later.
7. Price changes
If we change the price of a plan you are already subscribed to, we will tell you before the change takes effect, with enough notice to cancel first if you would rather not continue. Continued renewal after a price change means you accept the new price.
